Featured in this work is a female spirit of the clouds and waters from Hindu and Buddhist culture known as Apsara. While most paintings in the series feature specific named goddesses, this painting features an unnamed entity from a class of divine spirits said to rule over fertility, art and luck. The Apsara are comparable to the muses of ancient Greece.

She dances between the waters of the sky. Her divine grace and elegance, her rhythmic and fluid movement caressing the of eyes all who cast upon her their gaze. Her divine dance so hypnotic, no man nor woman alike can evade her spell of seduction. She is our lust, our insatiable desire to embrace beauty, and our own ability to command that desire from others. She is both the seducer and the seduced. She is the epitome of human passion. In all of us exists the capacity to manifest her within ourselves. She is the height of ecstasy found only through a lover’s embrace. That height we forever seek to climb to. She is the highest of human joy found only in the same act from which we were all created.
